The Essence Of The Green Island started as my personal project and first book, with a collection of 50 beautiful black and white photographs of some of the places and things I photographed, that evoked in me memories and nostalgia of the first thirty years of my life in the island of Sao Miguel (aka The Green Island), in the Azores, Portugal.
Later, I realized that I could help other people with these photographs, namely, immigrants from the island and tourists wanting to find out about Sao Miguel, before traveling there.
I have dedicated this book to both my parents that passed away recently and were the biggest fans of my photographic work, always encouraging and supporting me.
