What can you do with Hipstamatic and an iPhone?

If you love mobile photography, take a look at my latest book "Quaintness". All images were shot with the very cool "Hipstamatic" app on the iPhone 4, yes I still use one of those!

Over the course of two years, I would go out and take only my iPhone, leaving the heavy DSLR at home, and only using it to do studio work. I made hundreds of captures, from street scenes, to people and animals, to shadows and reflections, I photographed what caught my eye around Ontario, Canada.

I experimented with most of the possible combinations of lenses and films on the amazing "Hipstamatic" app but my top choice is the "Tinto 1884 lens with D Type film".

This book contains a selection of the images that better represent my artistic view and a selection of images taken with my favourite set ups.

New Book Excitement!

Hey everyone!

I am about to launch a brand new photo book, still about the iPhone, but this time, showcasing one app that I love.

The app is called Hipstamatic and it is amazing. From the moment I downloaded it about 4 years ago, I have made hundreds of cool images with it.

I am a sucker for retro and vintages cameras and films and this little app delivers stunning results, similar to the cameras I used when shooting film.

Anyway, more to come about the app, on the book. For now here is the cover of the first edition. This one is a 7"x7" hard cover but, there will be a 12"x12" version, as well.

I named the book "Quaintness" since the images are all retro looking and here is the definition of the word, with a link to Dictionary.com

Quaintness: having an old-fashioned attractiveness or charm

Stay tuned for the launch in a day or two:

Brand new book "Meet Me In My Mind" - Just released

It seems I'm in a roll :)

Hello everyone!
I am very excited to finally announce the release of my sixth photo book. This is volume one of a series of three or four books showcasing my fine art and the thought process going into it.
"Photo Art" to me, is turning a photograph into something more artistic and where I express my interpretation of the image before me. With the use of textures, I am able to better portray the feeling or emotion that I receive from the scene.

This technique might seem simple but, if not executed correctly, it might ruin a good image. It should be used in moderation.

Some of my artworks required intricate composites and a variety of different textures to achieve the desired result. But I am amazed every time my vision comes together in the final image.

Pick up a copy now!

This book makes a great gift, or you can display it on a table in your own house!!

CAPTURED - New Orleans - The Streets Of The Big Easy

Hey everyone! Take a look at my brand new "Magazine" style book in a series of books dedicated to exploring streets in our beautiful North American cities! Available now to purchase!!

Yes, I am really happy with the way that this book turned out and I believe it showcases the spirit of the streets of New Orleans, more specifically, of the French Quarter. I decided to have all the images in black and white, since that is the traditional way of presenting street photography, but also because I felt that they represent better the feeling I had while there. You can have a sense of the history in that city and the influence of the French and Spanish cultures. An amazing city, indeed.

Here is a sample of the book.

Meet Me In My Mind - Photo Art

Hello everyone!

Announcing the (soon to arrive) first book in a series of books with some of the best and most popular of my artwork, as per public views and other artists's reviews and comments, on my website.

One of my favourite types of work I create is Photo-Art, a fusion of photography and digital manipulation of the image and the addition of textures. Some of the images are composites of several photographs to create the final vision and others are just enhancements done to the original photo. With this process I am able to achieve what my mind's eye perceives the image to represent to me.

My work has been praised and has been receiving great reviews, for which I and deeply thankful. After numerous suggestions from other peers, I have decided to create this series of books that I hope will please art lovers.

Stay tuned for the launch date!
